These resources are a two-way street, you can search for jobs, or in some cases, you can just upload your resume and the employers will reach out to you. Sometimes the internet isn’t for you and you need some extra help from an actual person. Look no further than staffing companies. These are companies that you work with an actual person to help you find a job. You often meet with them in person to discuss what it is you’re looking for, what you’re capable of, and anything else related to jobs. After this, they look for jobs FOR YOU! They will send your resumes out to various companies that are hiring to get you a job as soon as possible. This always a great way to get back out there when you’re fresh out of prison and don’t know where to start.
FINAL REMINDER: BE HONEST
Never lie. Especially not on your resume or during an interview. Eventually, the truth will come out and you will be held accountable. You have a history now, you know it, and the employer will know it too. Think ahead of how you want to address it. The employer will likely ask about it, so be prepared to talk about it. Sometimes addressing it first is the best route. It shows you’re willing to own up to your past and that you take initiative. No matter what, be prepared and be honest.
