At-home Activities in the Midst of Coronavirus

ah home activities coronavirus

With the current state of the Coronavirus pandemic, more and more people are being asked to work remotely. Students are now finishing of the school year with online classes and restaurants, bars, and also other places are being asked to close temporarily in some states too. While working remotely may be exciting to some, it comes with one important question: how do we keep ourselves entertained at home? Well, here are a couple quick ideas on activities to do during this time:

MOVIE NIGHTS:

A great way to take a couple hours out of the day. You and maybe your family are stuck at home, why not watch some of each other’s favorite movies? Throw in some popcorn and shut the blinds, it will feel just like a movie theater.

TRY OUT A NEW HOBBY:

That guitar that’s been sitting in the corner of your room can finally be played. Or maybe you were looking to start painting, drawing, or knitting. Now is as good of a time as ever to start trying something new!

LEARN A LANGUAGE:

We live in a country filled with people from all over the world, so then it’s never a bad idea to learn a new language. There are a myriad of websites, YouTube videos and apps (such as great apps like duolingo) that offer free lessons on all types of languages from the comfort of our own homes.

COOK SOMETHING NEW:

Has there been a recipe you’ve been dying to try out? Or maybe you’re just feeling a little creative and want to make something new. With grocery stores running out of stock on certain items, this idea can then become tricky. Luckily, with websites like supercook.com you can thus check all the ingredients you have and it will offer you meal ideas!

READ A NEW BOOK:

That book that’s been on your shelf for ages wants to be read, now is the time to open it up! Truly reading is great for the mind and thus can take up as much time as you want it to.

ENJOY YOUR TIME WITH SOMEONE:

Maybe work has been taking up a lot of your time lately and you haven’t been able to spend much time with your loved one or your kids. Engage in some of the above activities with them! Have your significant other help you cook something or then start a new hobby with you. Watch movies with your entire family or have the children be your little kitchen helpers.

Overall, there are ton of things to do at home. You just have to be a little creative!
