Hello Friends,
Our entire country is changing by the day. Laws, names of cities and teams, masks, school schedules – lots of changes. Too many people are just along for the ride, only making changes when the change is dictated or enforced. They are stuck living their lives in the same old rut. In the middle of a worldwide transformation, they are trying to stay the same. What they fail to realize is that now is the best time to change your life.
"If you knew doing one thing differently would change your life, would you do it?"
Be honest. Would you change your routine just that little bit to achieve something you really wanted? Naturally, you would. To be sure, doing just one thing is simple. One small change can transform your entire life, but it will also lead to other changes that will create a synergy of positive outcomes for you.
The one thing I am talking about today is Discipline.
You have probably heard me say, “Discipline does not walk with chumps.” It is true. If you are weak, cowardly, frightened, and insecure, the world can see it because you shun discipline. However, when you begin to embrace discipline, your confidence begins to increase, and others will begin to trust you because they will see that you are a person who can be counted on to do what they say they will do.
I remember the moment I decided to do something different with my life.
Ron was in prison, I was on welfare and I had just returned from standing in a long line to get Christmas presents for my kids. Indeed, beyond a shadow of a doubt, this is not the way I want to spend the rest of my life. On the heels of that epiphany, I thus came the realization that I if I wanted something different, I needed to do something different. I surely felt the urgency to build a better life and the understanding that no one else could do it for me. I had to embrace discipline and reignite my dreams.
In fact, the only way you will ever make your dreams come true is by working consistently to achieve them. Begin to discipline yourself today. Do one thing differently and keep doing it. Get up 15 minutes earlier, read for 30 minutes every day, work out for 30 minutes every day, take a course to learn a new skill. It doesn’t matter what activity you change in your life, being consistent with positive choices will build a new legacy for you.
Time for a change—start your One Thing today.
I am rooting for you,
Cathy
