Summer Activities in 2020

summer family blog

The cold weather is leaving and the warm weather is rolling in. That can only mean one thing, summer is officially here. 2020 has been off to an unexpected start with the COVID-19 outbreak, but states are starting to reopen which means people can begin to plan out their summer. So what are some fun activities you and your family can do this summer?

Beach Day:

Probably one of the most iconic destinations during the summer is the beach. The beach is perfect because it offers a lot of activities all in one location. You can lay out in the sun, go swimming in the water, play catch in the sand, build sand castles, etc. The opportunities are endless.

Ice Cream Trip:

Sometimes the heat is unbearable in the summer and you need a quick and tasty way to cool off. That’s where ice cream comes into play. It’s sweet, it’s cold, it’s affordable and your family will love it on a hot summer day. Be sure to support your local ice creams shops as they may have been heavily affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Bonfire:

Not all summer activities need to happen during the day. When the sun goes down and the temperature cools off, try having a bonfire. This is a great way for your family to sit together, decompress and catch up. You can even toast marshmallows or make s’mores for extra fun!

Yard Games:

Yard games offer a great way to spend time together while having fun with some friendly family competition. Games like corn-hole (also known as bean-bag toss), kan-jam, bocce, horseshoes, ladder golf, giant jenga, and many more, can all be great activities during the summer. The best part, these games come at a very affordable price.

While the initial panic of the COVID-19 outbreak has been dying down and states are beginning to re-open, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still take proper precautions. Stay safe this summer and have fun!
