Its time to Spring clean your business

It never fails.

Every year, when it comes to Spring cleaning, I put it off as long as possible. This bad habit is not because I don’t enjoy the reward of having a fresh, clean house to kick-off a new season, I just don’t want to go through all my stuff.   A clean house is not just for esthetic appeal, it is symbolic of a new season full of possibilities. For more about living in a new season, read this blog article.

When we find the motivation to rummage through our unwanted things and donate or throw away those things that are no longer needed, we begin to create a cleaner place to live. At the same time, we are making a space for our new-season things. This also allows us to foster new creative thoughts and give ourselves permission to grow.

If you are a manager, business owner, or just work around people, you may notice that these same principles apply in business. Included in this blog are a few links and resources that will help you start Spring cleaning your business.

Spring Clean Your Business

Spring is a great time for renewal and a fresh start. It’s out with the old and in with the new.

How has your first quarter been? Has 2018 got off to good start, or have you been hit with a few challenges? Every business can benefit from regular reviews of its operations, and there’s no better time than spring to do it.

So… what’s the one thing you’d improve going into the second quarter? And how could you achieve this goal?

It’s time to step back and evaluate what’s holding your business back and what isn’t. Review your operations and set realistic goals for long-term and strategic growth.

Are you leaking money anywhere that could be avoided?

Could your brand do with a re-fresh? Is it time to up-skill certain members of staff? Do your books need a brush up? Is it time to assess and update your business plan?

If you keep doing the same thing and expect different results, nothing will change. It is up to you to keep learning and take action.

Use these resources to get Your spring off to the best start:

  1. Why you need a Business Plan
  2. Where are you now, where do you want to be, and how will you get there?
  3. Is your Business leaking money?
  4. Work smarter, not harder
